Perfect Skin March 27, 2005 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
Or so, they'll think. Secret Camouflage is the best product for hiding undereye circles (with the lighter shade) and concealing blemishes (with the darker shade, mixed with the lighter shade as necessary to match your skin tone). I have tried everything and this product is superior in every sense.
While I wouldn't recommend this product if your skin is highly flawed (acne, dry skin, etc) I would highly recommend it for an occasional pimple and to hide undereye circles. You won't find a better product.
Two Shades to Perfect June 28, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I agree with the other reviewers. Select the correct shades for your complexion and hide many flaws. My main problem is spider viens on my face and this is better than anything else I've tried. I also like the fact that if your skin may be a little darker or lighter at different times you can custom blend. I don't like it for under the eyes, however, as it can become a bit hard and tug on the delicate eye tissue. The consistancy is perfect for the rest of the face though and coverage can be built up to the degree needed. And it stays in place. There is the expense of the special brush. I tried it with my fingers but when the person behind the counter used the brush it really did make a difference. This product goes a long way in both covering flaws and lasting for quite a while. Other concealers can be seen on the skin but this can look extremely natural if you carefully blend. It's very matte and can be used along the nose. It melds together with foundation on other parts of my face. The compact is easy to toss in a bag too. Camouflage is a great name for a great product.
Conceals your imperfections like magic! March 10, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I am SO, SO satisfied with Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage concealer. When I first used it, I wasn't really using it properly so I didn't see the great results. However, yesterday I went back to the Laura Mercier counter at Macy's and the lady gave me some great tips!! Ladies, listen up:
The color of your forehead, your cheekbone area, and your jawline are different from each other! Your forehead (at least in my case) is the darkest, since that's where the sun hits most. Your cheekbone area is in the medium color range, and your jawline's color is very light, since it's lower and harder for the sun to hit. So, here's the tip--
1. to cover blemishes on your FOREHEAD, get your concealer brush and slide the first side of the brush 2 times into the dark concealer, and then use the other side of your brush to slide it 1 time into the light concealer. Now, rub those two colors into your hand to mix them together. Apply to your blemishes.
2. to cover blemishes on your CHEEK AREA, rub the first side of the brush 2 times into the dark concealer and 2 times into the light concealer. Trust me, using your hand to mix the color together is the best thing to do. Once you do that, apply it to your blemishes.
3. to cover blemishes around your JAWLINE, use one side of your brush to swipe it 1 time into the dark and the other side of the brush to swipe it 2 times into the light. Mix together on your hand and voila!
It covered my blemishes like magic. I was very impressed.
The first lady at Macy's never told me this great little trick; instead, she just told me to use the lighter shade to cover my blemishes, and I saw absolutely no results with that! I never knew you were supposed to mix the two concealer shades together for flawless coverage. Also, feel to change how much dark and how much light concealer you mix. For my personal skin type, the lady told me those combinations, and I assume those combinations will work, generally, for most women.
She also gave me another great tip! I guess Laura Mercier has eye cream that's supposed to cover circles under your eyes. She said all it is the secret camouflage mixed with a tiny bit of moisturizer. So here's what you do: get the brush and swipe it 2 times into the dark and 2 times into the light, and then mix with the moisturizer.
Voila!! Try these tips and you'll see for yourself how much of a difference it makes!
THIS is PERFECTION. June 2, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have searched high and low for a concealer that would do 6 things: 1.) Cover up my little annoying red marks from leftover acne breakouts 2.) Cover any new blemishes that may pop up 3.) Cover the redness around and on my nose 4.) Cover undereye circles 5.) Look NATURAL and stay on all day. 6.) Be truly noncomedeogenic (since I have acne prone skin and check any product I use against the comedeogenic list.)
Well---I can finally say I found it, as this one does it all. Now, it's crucial to find the right shade for you to get amazing results. The lady at Sephora recommended 4 for me, but when I got home I felt it was just a bit too dark and didn't do a good job on concealing the redness on my nose. I went back and got 3 and it is perfect. I also did buy Laura Mercier's concealer brush and it really is worth the investment. I've used the concealer both ways, and her brush is so superior it gives you a truly airbrushed look. I cannot say enough about this product. This was the little thing my Bare Minerals foundation was missing. I put this concealer on first, then BE Bare Minerals, and I truly get that flawless face look (and believe me, my face is far from flawless!)
Very Good Camouflage Kit March 2, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've used this for over three years with good success. To use the heavier concealer: dab it on your ring finger then wait a few seconds for it to warm up, then apply it. I just bought a Becca concealer kit and while I do find it easier to use because of the consistancy, there's so many colors that I chose a color that isn't quite right. So, I mix the two brands on my finger with a small concealer brush.
